5. DOES THE CHILD TAKE THE ASSESSMENT WITH OTHER CHILDREN?
No. Both the WPPSI-III and the WISC-IV administrations are given
on a one-to-one basis which means that after a brief
acquaintance
period or warm-up time, the child and the examiner go into a separate room
for the assessment. Parents
may either wait in our reception area
or return when the assessment is completed.
6. WHAT IF MY CHILD IS
SHY, NERVOUS, HESITANT, ETC.?
Our testers are professionals who have worked with children and administered
these tests for many years. Every effort is made to put your child
at ease and make him or her feel comfortable and
have a positive experience.
7. WHAT SHOULD I TELL MY CHILD ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT?
Let your child know
that he/she will be doing some interesting
activities to help schools/teachers/parents know how each child learns best.
8. CAN I DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE MY CHILD FOR THE TESTING?
A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast
is all the preparation needed.
9. WHAT IF I DO NOT YET KNOW WHAT SCHOOLS I MAY BE APPLYING TO?
Leave
that part of the Admissions Registration Form blank. It may be
completed at any time.
10. MAY I PAY BY CREDIT
CARD?
No. We accept checks, money orders or cash.
